The tour Li River, has one excellent place, does not worry the weather change, because the different weather Li River scenery has the different characteristic: The cloudless day, looks the Qingfeng inverted image; The cloudy day, looks inundates the mountain fog; The rainy day, looks the Li River smoke rain. Even is the cloudy rainy day, but sees in the river the smoke wave is vast, hills partly visible, the floating clouds goes through between the high peak, 雨幕 resembles the fine gauze covers above the landscape, looks just like one differ in thousands of ways splashes ink the watercolor painting. Is precisely " the Guilin scenery armor world, the excellent Li River exudes the fall chart ".

Bike the Yulong River Valley

[edit]

Away from the tourist crowds of Yangshuo's main West Street, just 10 km southwest is the Yulong River and some of the most spectacular karst formations in the area. There is climbing here at Copper Door which features several 5-11+ routes bolted by Ken McMahon in 1998, but the real draw here is the river itself. The Yulong is a tributary of the Li River, but more narrow and shallow. As farmers have constructed a series of weirs across it every kilometer or so, it is free of large boat traffic. Instead, bamboo rafts launched 20km upriver at the Yulong Bridge, ferry tourists downriver by the hundreds each day. Yet the water is also much cleaner than the Li River, and is ideal for swimming on a hot day. Many tourists choose to bike the 20km from the Moon Bridge to the 600 year old Yulong Bridge. The views along the way are unparalleled, with endless stretches of emerald rice fields fed form the river to ancient villages that dot its banks. There are few places to stay here. Several foreigners have set up guest houses such as the Dutch-owned Outside Inn and Giggling Tree which are renovated village homes, as well as the Yangshuo Mountain Retreat built by an American [[1]]. As the Yangshuo County Government has improved the roads in this valley, more tourists are biking out here, but it is still a relatively undisturbed naturally scenic area. Many of the trails through this valley are largely unexplored by outsiders and offer a unique experience to adventurous travelers. An exhausting but unforgettable day out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrisandnam (talkcontribs) 10:52, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

pollution??

[edit]

This says that the Li River is visibly polluted at most times. My understanding was that this is one of the cleanest rivers in China. Certainly it seemed very clean when I visited. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.43.227.18 (talk) 04:29, 15 April 2009 (UTC) I'be been there recently and it looks very clean... the thing is there's a lot of river traffic (boats and so on). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Logatfer (talkcontribs) 03:25, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
